Inventory an article in the MP/ reuse hub using the mobile app

How to start adding articles to your reuse hub using the Palats mobile app

When you've set up your reuse hub, it's time to start taking inventory for all reusable items. When you inventory something in your hub, the item will be immediately be visible in the hub. The easiest way to add items to your hub is by using the Palats mobile app, but you can also create items directly in the web app.

💙 Tip! Make it a rule not to inventory anything in your reuse hub that you wouldn't consider reusing yourself.

Let's get started!

If you haven't already downloaded the Palats mobile app, now is the time to do it. You can find it on the App Store or Google Play.

  1. Log in to Palats mobile app using the same login credentials as you do for the web app.
  2. Navigate to your reuse hub and choose a division where you want to add your article. If you haven't created more than one floor plan, you don't need to select a division.
  3. Click on the plus sign to start inventorying.
  4. If you've added a floor plan, place your item by clicking on it.
  5. Click on Add photos and take one or several pictures of your article.
  6. If you're using a QR code, click on Add QR code and scan the QR code with your camera. Then attach the QR code to your article.
  7. Select a category and fill in the  model specifications. It's okay to leave fields blank.
  8. In the "Weight" field, there's a default value on which the carbon footprint calculation is based. The same applies to the "Purchase price" field, to demonstrate the hypothetical savings that can be made by choosing to reuse the article. Both fields can be updated if you have an exact value.
  9. When you reach Functional condition, Visual condition, and Logistics, click on the ℹ️ symbol to be guided on how to assess the article's condition.
  10. Use other tags if you want to specify an item number or other information indicating where an article comes from.
  11. Leave the Create listing box checked if you want the article to be listed in the hub immediately.
  12. Select how many copies you want to create and click "Complete and save." If you have more than one article , enter the quantity and continue with step 2 below.

Step 2 - Copy articles

  1. Choose which information you want to copy from the original article, then select Review articles. For example, if you want to add QR codes or change the condition of any of the copies, review articles and then click on Edit copies.
  2. Click on the parameter (location, QR, condition, or images) you want to change or add.
  3. Go through each article one by one and move to the next one in the list by clicking on Next item. For instance, if you want to change the condition of one of the items, click on "Condition" and enter the deviation. You can also choose to take an extra picture to clarify the deviation by clicking on "Photos".
  4. When you're done with your editing, click on Finish editing at the top right corner.
  5. Click on Approve and save to create your copies.
  6. Well done! You have now added your first articles to the hub.

If you have articles where there's no need to know the condition of each specific individual  but you're only interested in saving information about the quantity, weight, or volume of a particular item, you can inventory these as bulk items.

Search in Model Library

If you receive more articles of the same model at a later time, the model is saved in your model library.

  1. Choose where in the location you will take inventory by clicking on one of the divisions.
  2. Click on the plus icon.
  3. Select a location on the floor plan if you are using one and add a QR code if you use QR-codes.
  4. Click on Search in Model Library
  5. Select your model. Now all model specifications are included, and you only need to fill in the article specifications such as condition and other tags.
  6. Under create listing you can choose to add the article(s) to an existing listing if there is one. If you want to create a new listing, select create new listing and complete and save thereafter.
