Step 1 - Create a new location in the web app.

Here we go through how to create a location with divisions using the web app.

Before conducting an inventory, prepare your work in Palats by creating a new location.

Your "Location" refers to the property or building you are inventorying. Here, we guide you on setting up your new location in the web app, dividing it into different branches, and uploading a floor plan.

1. Go to "locations" in the left menu.
2. Click on "New Location" in the top right corner.
3. Upload a picture of your location, and fill in the location's Name, Address, and any additional information.

Dividing through a Floor Plan

1. Click on "create a new division" and enter a name and any additional information.
2. Click to upload a floor plan or drag and drop the floor plan into the box. Then click "Save".
3. You can now see that there is a small map icon on the division, indicating that the floor plan has been uploaded.

Division through Folder Structure

If you lack a floor plan, you can instead divide your location into a folder structure.

1. Click on "create a new division" and enter a name, for example, "Floor 2", and any additional information.

2. Choose "Save" without uploading any floor plan.

3. You can now start creating rooms linked to "Floor 2" by hovering over "Floor 2" and clicking on "+".

4. Once you're done with your location, click "Save Changes".
