Change the model ID of an article / Merge model IDs

Here's how to change the model ID of one or more articles simultaneously.

When you inventory an article, a new model ID is created. Sometimes, you might accidentally inventory the same model twice, resulting in the same model existing in your library but with different model IDs. Here, we will explain how to change the model ID of an article.

Here's how to do it: 

1. Log in to the web app at palats.io.
2. Go to Locations in the left menu.
3. Access the location where the article is located.
4. Add a filter on for example all chairs and identify your duplicates.
5. Note down the model ID you want to convert to. As an example, I want 5 doors with model ID 75268 to become model ID 36907.
6. Check the box for your 5 articles with model ID 75268.
7. When you check the boxes, Edit multiple becomes visible. Click on it and select Model.
8. Click on Search in model library and look for the model ID you want to change to, in this case 36907.
9. Choose the desired model and then select Update articles.
10. Done! Your articles are now merged with the model ID you chose.
