Order flow with a external partner

If you place an order but someone else will pick it up

Roles

  • Seller / vendor – Publishes the listing on the marketplace.

  • Customer / Project Manager – Places an order on a listing.

  • External Partner – Collects the order from the seller on behalf of the buyer.

 

Delivery Method

  • Pick up at location: The customer is responsible for picking up their order at a given location, or may hire a third party to do so. 
  • Via pickup (The customer picks up the items at a location where a person is responsible for handing out and handing the order in Palats) 
  • Via self-service in the app (The customer is responsible for picking up order at a given location using the Palats app)

Type of vendor

  • Personal responsibility: Each listing is personal and published and handled by the respective user. 

How the Ordering Process Works

  1. The seller/vendor publishes their listing on the marketplace.
  2. The customer finds a listing and fills in the required information to place an order.
  3. Once the order is confirmed, an order confirmation email is sent to the customer.
  4. If the delivery method is Pick up at location, the seller/vendor contacts the customer directly to agree on a time and place for collection.
    • The seller’s/vendor’s contact details can be found via the link in the order confirmation email.

 

For the Seller/vendor

  • When someone places an order on one of your listings, you will receive an email with the order details.
  • You can view and manage all your listings and orders by clicking on the profile icon (“the person” icon) when logged in.
  • In the email, click the link “Open order in Palats” to view the customers’s contact information.
  • You and the customer then agree on a date and location for pickup
  • Once the customer has collected their articles, you can mark the order as collected.

 

If You Use an External Partner

The customer and seller are the primary parties in Palats. So If the customer wish to engage an external partner for example pickup, the following steps are required:

  1. The customer goes to Orders in the marketplace and opens the specific order.
  2. The customer takes a screenshot of the order details – showing the pickup location and contact information (For privacy reasons and in compliance with GDPR, Palats does not share contact information via email).
  3. Then send these details to the external partner.
  4. The external partner will then have all necessary information about the order and will contact the seller to arrange a time and place for collection.

(Clarification: The customer and seller are the primary parties in Palats. If a third or external party plays a larger role, such as handling logistics, that party should also be included)
