Reuse Hub - How to Succeed!

Here we have gathered our best tips for how you cn succeed with your reuse hub

What is a reuse hub?

A reuse hub is a digital reflection of a physical storage facility. By using Palats, it becomes easy to see what items are available in a storage facility, reserve them, and pick up what you need.

Each time an item is picked up, the reuse is logged, allowing you to track statistics on the financial savings, reduced emissions, and waste quantities that you achieve.

What do you need to get started with your reuse hub?

  • Existing storages or warehouse space.
  • Reusable items. Often, there are plenty of items already stored in facilities around different properties, and many times reusable items will be left over from construction projects and management.
  • Designate one or more responsible persons who are in charge of ensuring the quality and inventory of items placed in the hub.
  • Set up a designated area for drop-off to make it easy to keep track of items to be placed in the hub.
  • Establish clear procedures visibly in your storage area for what applies to inbound and outbound transactions.
  • Link to the hub(s) on your intranet to make it easy to see what's available both through the computer and the mobile app.
  • Make sure to spread the word internally - focus on the launch to get everyone on board. Perhaps you want to highlight the individuals who have reused the most in the organization, and why not celebrate with a cake 🎂!?

Set up a goal and track your progress

An important aspect of reuse is creating engagement among all employees in the organization. One way to do this is to showcase the results you achieve internally and let everyone see how your reuse efforts are progressing.

In Analyze, we have a feature that allows you to set your own reuse goals, such as CO2e savings and financial savings, and track them in a cumulative graph.

Make it a rule not to deposit anything in a hub that you yourself wouldn't consider reusing.
