This article is intended for administrators or members with permission to inventory items and create listings directly from existing inventory.
You can create listings during the inventory process or choose to do so at a later time. In this guide, we’ll go through how to create multiple listings at once at a later stage.
💙 Tip – how to create an attractive listing
- Take high-quality photos that clearly show the product. If there is a label or marking, it can be helpful to include a photo of it.
- Specify the correct condition. If the condition deviates in any way, it’s important to include additional photos showing the issue.
- Add relevant specifications. Think about what you would need to know to confidently order a similar product.
Step 1 - Ensure your location has an address
If you receive a message indicating that the location lacks an address, you need to update the location with a complete address (street, postal code, and city) as this information is required for automatic inclusion when creating your listings. You can add or update the address by going to your location and selecting "Edit Location" at the top right (this only needs to be done once).
Step 2 - Select Your Models and Create Listings
- Log in to the web app at palats.io.
- Navigate to a location and filter out all unlisted articles by clicking on "Filter" and selecting "Not in listing" under marketplace status.
- Select the models you want to create listings for by checking the boxes next to them.
- Click on "More Actions" and choose "Create Listing."
- If you have multiple marketplaces, select the marketplace where you want to publish your listings.
- Depending on your organization's settings, you might need to specify a responsible advertiser if this option appears. Otherwise, you won’t see this step.
- Enter the price for each listing or leave it blank if the article(s) are free.
- Click on "Create Listings."
- Done!
Add more items to an existing listing
- Navigate to the model via your location or through items in the left-hand menu.
- Select one of the items belonging to the model and choose "Copy" under "More options".
- Choose which properties you want to copy from the selected item and save.
- Select the new item(s) you created and choose "Create listing" under "More options".
- If the items you just created have the same condition as the items in the existing listing, you will be prompted to either add them to an existing listing or create a new one. Choose to add them to the existing listing and save.
It is only possible to add items of the same model to a single listing. If you have multiple items you want to list where the model varies (e.g. a black bookshelf and a white one), you need to create a separate listing for each model.
If the condition varies between items of the same model, they will automatically be split into separate listings.
Create a listing via the mobile app
Create a listing for an item without a QR code
If the item has not yet been added to Palats, start by inventorying it. Once that is done, follow the steps below:
- Open the mobile app.
- Go to the item you want to list, or scan the QR code. If you have multiple items of the same model, select the items you want to include.
- Tap Options and select Create listing.
- Add a title and optionally write a description if you want to clarify anything in the listing.
- Set a price, or leave it blank if the item is free.
- Under Availability, tap Show location details and enter the pickup address.
- Tap Publish listing.
Create a listing for an item with a QR code
If the item has not been added yet, start by inventorying it.
- Open the mobile app.
- Tap Scan in the bottom menu.
- Scan the QR code on the first item.
- Tap Options.
- Tap Create listing.
- If you have multiple items, tap Add more and select all items to include in the listing.
- Set a price and optionally add a description.
- Under Availability, tap Show location details and enter the pickup address.
- Tap Publish listing.
