# Search in the model library on desktop

## Search among your existing models when taking inventory

With the "search" function in the model library, while taking inventory, you can choose to search among your existing models. The model specifications you have collected for an already existing model are retrieved, and you **only** need to update the article specifications, such as condition, purchase price, manufacturing year, and any additional text.

#### Here's how you do it!

1. Choose the location in the building you want to work in by clicking on one of the sections.
2. Click on "**+ Create article**."
3. Add the location if you are taking inventory using a floor plan.
4. Click on "**Search in the model library.**"
5. Select your article. Now, all model specifications will be included, and you only need to fill in the article-specific details.

 

**Tip!** If you have previously taken inventory of a model and need to add a similar one with, for example, a different color, you can choose to create a new model based on an existing one.
