Inventory in the Palats mobile app

Once you have created your location, you are ready to log in to the mobile app and start inventorying. Depending on the type of product category you are inventorying, the specifications will be tailored to the chosen category. None of the specifications are mandatory, and you can always edit and supplement your collected data afterwards.

💡 If you have items where there is no need to track the condition of each specific individual item but instead, you are only interested in recording information such as the total quantity, weight, or volume of a particular item, then you can choose to inventory them as bulk goods.


  1. Log in to the Palats mobile app.
  2. Navigate to the location you want to inventory.
  3. Select sructure and tap the purple plus icon at the bottom right.
  4. If you have added a floor plan, start by placing your item on the floor plan. You can choose to open it in fullscreen to zoom in.
  5. Take one or more clear pictures of your item.
  6. Add any QR code if applicable.
  7. Choose a category by searching or navigating through the category tree. Based on the selected product category, you will receive specifications tailored to that category.
  8. Modify the display name or label to differentiate between different models within the same product category.
  9. Fill in the requested specifications.
  10. In the tags field at the bottom, you can create your own tags and label items, such as those to be disposed of or temporarily stored.
  11. Select Finish & Save Item when you are done. If you have multiple identical items, you can copy the item or search for it in your model library.

💡 In the fields for weight and purchase price, there is a default value pre-filled. The carbon footprint value is based on the weight and can be updated, just like the purchase price.
