How to Edit inventory fields
Hide, show, or make inventory fields required in the web and mobile app
Who is this for?
This article is intended for you who are an owner or administrator in an organization.
How and why?
By customizing which inventory fields are displayed, you can both simplify the process and ensure that the right information is collected from the start. Hiding unnecessary fields reduces clutter in the inventory process, making it more clear and efficient. Fewer fields also mean less scrolling, which saves time during inventory.
These settings apply to fields that are shared across all categories in Palats. You can choose whether a field should be shown, hidden, or required. There is also an option to hide fields only in the mobile app while still displaying them in the web app, which is often a recommended approach. For example, during inventory you may not need to add climate impact data or pricing, but you may still want to manage this information later in the web app.
How to do it
-
Log in to the Palats web app.
-
Click your name in the bottom left corner.
-
Click Settings and then go to Inventory fields in the left-hand menu.
-
Select or deselect the fields as needed. We recommend keeping fields visible in the web app if you, as an administrator, want the option to add information afterward that was not collected during the inventory.
-
Save.
