# What Can I Inventory in Palats?

To make the inventory process as quick and simple as possible, we have tailored the specifications to fit the product category you are inventorying. For example, if you are inventorying an office chair, you will be prompted for seat height and seat depth, while an exterior door will have different specifications such as fire rating, frame depth, and sound reduction. Of course, no specifications are mandatory; you fill in the information you have and can easily edit and supplement your inventory afterwards.

You receive clear guidance on how to assess an item's functional and visual condition, and you can also specify if the item has any special preferences when it comes to logistics for a potential move.

**What Do I Do If I Can't Find the Right Product Category for the Item I Am Inventorying?**

If you cannot find the product category you are looking for, all categories have an "Other" option where you can categorize items and manually enter the display name you wish. Feel free to contact us if you have suggestions for categories we should add to Palats.
