The climate savings displayed in Palats are based on standard weight and standard climate impact per product category. The value is presented in kg CO2e. The climate value represents generic product categories that are linked to generic data. Therefore, the climate savings are not for a specific item but represent an average value for the product category to which the item belongs. In cases where you as a user specify your own weight for an item, this weight is used as a basis in the calculation of the item's climate impact. The climate data used primarily comes from generic climate databases, which in turn are based on average values for different items. Secondly, the climate data in Palats is based on an average value of available EPDs obtained from EPD databases and manufacturers. Palats uses the following databases when collecting climate data: - Boverket's climate database - SYKE's climate database - EPD International - EPD Norge The value in kg CO2e that you see on your items in Palats shows the potential climate savings you can achieve by reusing existing products and thus not replacing them with a corresponding new product. It is important to note that this value is an estimate, and the actual value may vary depending on various factors.
